ULTRADRAPE™ UGPIV BARRIER AND SECUREMENT
UltraDrape is a uniquely designed, sterile, dual-action barrier and securement dressing designed for use during Ultrasound-Guided Peripheral Intravenous (UGPIV) procedures. UltraDrape is 3.25”(8.25 cm) wide x 5.8” (14.72 cm) long. UltraDrape is sterile, non-irritating, non-sensitizing and is not made with natural rubber latex. The ultrasound gel is applied to a removable film layer to prevent contamination of the injection site. Convenient adhesive strips on the release film provide added securement of tubing and catheter hub surround. The bifurcated, “stand-alone” design prevents gel from reaching the IV site while enabling seamless catheter insertion and securement. Indications for Use UltraDrape is a single use, sterile, ultrasound-guided peripheral intravenous barrier and securement device (UGPIV). It is intended to protect the injection site from ultrasound gel and to secure IV catheters to the skin.
Precautions:
• Discard product if package is damaged or evidence of contamination is present.
• Do not re-use.
• Do not re-sterilize.
UltraDrape Application Considerations:
• Assure skin is clean, free of soap residue and lotion, and allowed to dry thoroughly before applying the UltraDrape to prevent skin irritation and ensure good adhesion. Clipping of hair at the application site may improve dressing adhesion; shaving is not recommended.
• UltraDrape may remain on the skin for up to seven days. Replace cathetersite dressing if the dressing becomes damp, loosened, or visibly soiled.
• For additional information, refer to the UltraDrape Application Instructions.
UltraDrape Removal Technique:
1) Loosen an edge of the dressing.
2) Stabilize the skin at the removal site.
3) Remove the dressing “low and slow” in direction of hair growth, keeping it close to the skin surface and pulled back over itself.
IMPORTANT:
Removing the dressing at an angle will pull at the skin, increasing the risk of skin injury.
4) As the dressing is removed, continue supporting newly exposed skin.
Storage Conditions:
Store between 10°C and 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Disposal Follow all federal, state, and local regulations for non-hazardous waste disposal.
